LIV Golf is gearing up for an exciting 2024 season, revealing a substantial portion of its event schedule, which notably includes a tournament in Las Vegas. The league, backed by Saudi Arabia, aims to solidify its presence as a global series by hosting at least half of its locations outside the USA.
The upcoming season kicks off from February 2-4 in Mayakoba, Mexico, marking a second consecutive year for the event in this picturesque location. Following this, a new competition in Las Vegas is set to captivate audiences from February 8-10, culminating just a day before the city hosts the highly anticipated Super Bowl.
LIV Golf is strategically expanding its footprint with new events on the horizon. Apart from the Las Vegas showcase, the schedule reveals an April 5-7 event in the United States, strategically positioned a week before the prestigious Masters tournament. Additionally, the schedule includes the individual championship.
The US will play host to other new events in Nashville and Houston, while the global reach of LIV Golf extends to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Spain, and Britain.
Notably absent from the list are tournaments at courses owned by former US President Donald Trump, who hosted five LIV Golf events over the first two years of the circuit. However, three slots on the schedule remain to be filled, leaving room for anticipation.
Among the events without a designated venue is LIV Golf's season-ending team championship, previously held at Trump's National Doral Golf Club in Florida for the last two years. The 2023 season saw LIV Golf host six events internationally and eight in the United States.
Reflecting on the league's ambitious goals, LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman expressed confidence in the continued growth of the sport. "Our goal has always been to create a worldwide league that inspires progress and attracts new fans to the sport that we love," Norman stated in a news release. "LIV Golf is stronger than ever, and next season will accomplish that goal and more."
